At New River Wellness Collective, we believe therapy works best when it is collaborative, relational, and tailored to the person in front of us. Our clinicians draw from a range of therapeutic approaches—including relational, psychodynamic, attachment-based, cognitive-behavioral, somatic, mindfulness-based, trauma-focused, and experiential therapies—to create treatment that fits each client’s needs, identities, strengths, and goals. We work with individuals, couples and relationships, and families across a wide range of concerns and life experiences. Our practice specializes in working with neurodivergence, and we strive to create a space where all people can bring their whole selves to therapy.

Adults & Relationships

We work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship concerns, identity exploration, burnout, neurodivergence, sexuality and gender, queer identity, and the many ways that relationships with ourselves and others can become complicated. We offer individual therapy as well as couples, relationship, and family therapy.

Our clinicians bring expertise in approaches including relational and attachment-based therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Relational Life Therapy (RLT), psychodynamic and experiential therapies, CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Whether you are looking to heal from trauma, understand yourself more deeply, improve your relationships, or navigate a major transition, we work collaboratively to help you move toward a life that feels more connected and authentic.

Clinicians who work with adults and relationships/couples include: Bennett Wood, LCSW; Jenny Elander, LCSWA; Devin McCarthy, BA; Ben Weinberg, BS; Liv Neely, LCSW;  Elizabeth Hodgson, MEd, LCSWA

Children & Teens

We provide therapy for children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, ADHD, neurodivergence, gender and sexuality identity exploration, family or relationship difficulties, school-related challenges, grief, and other emotional or behavioral concerns.

Our clinicians use developmentally appropriate approaches—including play and art therapy, CBT, DBT, attachment- and relationship-based work, trauma-focused therapies, and strengths-based approaches—to meet young people where they are. We also recognize that children and teens exist within families and larger systems, and we often work collaboratively with parents and caregivers to support both the young person and the relationships around them. Our goal is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to help young people develop greater self-understanding, confidence, connection, and flexibility.
